About Kayla McFadyen, LMFT, RPT
Kayla McFadyen is a dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Registered Play Therapist™ with a passion for supporting children and families. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia College and State University and her master’s degree from Mercer University. After graduating in 2018, Kayla relocated to Greenville, South Carolina, where she gained valuable experience working for a non-profit agency. There, she specialized in helping young children navigate the impacts of trauma, stress, and life transitions. Kayla’s compassionate and client-centered approach ensures that each family she works with feels empowered and supported in their journey toward healing and growth.
Kayla McFadyen utilizes a child-centered play therapy approach rooted in Adlerian principles. She believes that play is the natural language of children and offers a powerful way to communicate thoughts, feelings, and experiences. By incorporating Adlerian play therapy, Kayla emphasizes the importance of fostering connection, understanding each child’s unique perspective, and supporting their growth within the context of family and community relationships.
Through a strengths-based lens, she empowers children to discover their inner resources and develop resilience. Whether using directive techniques to teach specific skills or non-directive play to encourage self-expression, Kayla’s approach focuses on helping children build confidence, process emotions, and navigate life’s challenges with a sense of belonging and empowerment.
